FINALLY REVEALED:
The truth about your body, prescription
medications, supplements and exercise.
"Exercising The
Alternative"
As Seen & Heard
On:

Healthy Living through Disease
Management
by Dr. Gene Mahaffey D.O.
Finally, A resource to guide you and help you with your most
precious asset, your body! Dr. Gene wrote this book after he left
conventional medicine and started helping people, intuitively, naturally
by studying tens of 1000's of hours on the
subject when 99% of the doctors in practice just simply do not have
the time to do!
DID YOU KNOW ...
CANCER
DIABETES
OBESITY
ARTHRITIS
CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE
GASTROINTESTINAL DISEASE
NERVOUS SYSTEM
DISORDERS
HORMONAL
DISORDERS
WEIGHT GAIN & MORE
... Affect Almost Everyone On The Planet At Some Time Or
Another!
What do
all of these have in common?
You and I!
What causes these problems and diseases in our lives? The
list is endless. Dr Gene Mahaffey tells all in his new book, "Exercising the Alternative" and leaves no
stone unturned. This is a "Must Read" for all ages, whether fit or ill, lying or dying, coping or
failing, you are about to enter into a new realm of disease management, control and prevention
-
NO
KIDDING!
Let's take a look at what the Dr. has to say, a "sneak preview" if you
will...

"For those who believe the promises of the
Holy Bible, as I do, we know that the Word of God is life and health to our flesh (see Proverbs 4:22), and we
can combine our faith with the other factors. But even those who choose not to grasp this truth can learn to use
the natural means in the proper way to help themselves stay healthy. My goal is to promote a new “Disease
Management” approach to good health because I believe it will bless you. The subjects discussed in this book
will include lifestyle changes, dietary habits, the role of emotions and attitudes, and the biblical perspective
on good health. I will cover the practical, natural, and medicinal, as well as the spiritual aspects of
maintaining good health and preventing disease."

"As you read about some of
today’s most prevalent diseases and learn how this new approach applies to your situation, you will be better
able to handle your health needs. It is my hope that as you begin to understand more about your body and the
disease process, you will decide to exercise the alternatives by making the necessary behavior and attitude
changes—and begin to enjoy a longer, more healthy and more enjoyable life!"
AND THERE'S MORE
Dr. Gene
does not stop there,
What is the New
Approach?
"The osteopathic concept that was being taught when I graduated from
medical school in 1952 was “the body has all the necessary factors to overcome disease if the doctor can restore
normal structure to the body.” This maintained that the normal structure will promote normal function and health
will follow. In medical school I was taught all the disciplines of medicine, including diagnosis and treatment
of diseases. I learned that after a disease process has begun, it will continue until death occurs unless some
intervention—or reversal of the disease process—is used. An example of reversal by intervention would be the
administration of an antibiotic when an infection is present to destroy the offending organism. However, the
body must still repair and heal the tissues affected by the infection once the infection has been
destroyed."

What are the top 10 foods that are killing you? What are the top 10 lifestyles that are killing
you? What are the top 10 misconceptions about food and diets? What are is the FDA's role in America and their
stand on "non-traditional" medicine and medical practises? Shouldn't you know? Here's another
excerpt:
"A good example of the inconsistency of the FDA is the fact that the FDA tells consumers to
beware of dietary supplements because they are not “regulated.” Yet regulated products kill over 100,000
Americans every year and seriously injure over 2.1 million people! These figures do not include prescribing
errors or drug abuse."

How often have we visitied a doctor only to be treated as
cattle, feeling an erie uncomfort while listening to a "best guess" diagnosis, wondering if "I will be
alright" or contemplating a second opinion?

Trust Comes from
Relationship-
Engendering trust requires careful relationship building. Trust should not be associated only
with positive outcomes, but with honesty also. I built a level of trust in my own practice because I was honest
with patients, no matter what the outcome of treatment or care. In those times when I could not predict the
outcome and knew they faced adversity, I still shared the honest
facts with the patient. Many of my patients told me their previous doctor did
not seem to have a genuine interest in their problem and spent little time getting to know them. This left
the patient unconvinced that the doctor was working in their best interest
and, consequently, they did not trust the physician.
SADLY, THOUSANDS OF DRUG
REACTIONS OCCUR EACH YEAR, MANY RESULTING IN DEATH.
Too many physicians today feel they must be in total
chargeof a patient’s healthcare and
that the patient is only secondaryin
the process.Unfortunately, this
attitude only complicates treatment, sincebeing made to feel inadequate and embarrassed for
askingfoolish questions can leave the patient reluctant to discuss matters with the
doctor. Giving patients some responsibility for their own care
is very important, especially since they are now more directly involved in their recovery.(2) The question is:
Do we prescribe
or educate
? Do we tell
patients what to do, or do we educate them in facts about getting well and
healthy?

“SHARING REMARKABLE KEYS”
I am excited to know that Dr. Mahaffey has written this book to share with others some of the
remarkable keys he gave me so many years ago which changed my life. I met him in 1994 as an advertiser on my
radio show, and Dr. Gene provided a simple, easy-to-follow, step-by-step plan of nutrition and supplements
which helped me to regain and maintain not only my proper weight, but my overall health. Now fourteen years
later I am at my proper weight, my
metabolism is great, my blood pressure is great, my cholesterol is low, and I feel
tremendous.
I firmly believe that those who read this book and learn the wisdom of “exercising the alternative,”
applying disease management and taking responsibility for their bodies, will be
blessed, as I was, with a healthier, happier lifestyle. Dr. Gene, you are truly loved and
appreciated!

“THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ!”
When a Christian wishes to tell us something for our best welfare, we should listen and think. When
a Christian physician who has spent a lifetime delivering our babies, patching up our children, and taking
care of our ailments, real or imaginary, wishes to tell us something for our best welfare, we should listen
and think more. When this physician also lives the life that he wishes to share with us for our best welfare,
we should listen, think and read his book. Of the many wonderful physicians at The Helen Foundation Clinics,
Dr. Mahaffey embodies those personal traits that many wish for in their physicians. He lives his profession
and
is knowledgeable, kind, gentle and competent. He listens, thinks, and eloquently, tactfully
communicates what is in his mind. He lifts the spirits of his patients. The Helen Foundation has new
technology to treat rheumatic diseases that is dependent upon patient education. Dr. Mahaffey is a superb
educator in this program. His patients praise him. We honor him.

“A WELLSPRING OF LIFE”
The wise man Solomon said: “Understanding is
a wellspring of life to him who has it. But the correction of fools is folly,”(Proverbs 16:23). In essence, he was saying
that there are two categories of people: the wise or
prudent person and then, of course, the fool. The one seeks wisdom
and loves instruction and the other neglects discipline
and spurns reproof. Solomon also
said: “In all your
getting, get understanding,” (Proverbs 4:7). When we open our understanding to
learning better ways to health and
well-being we are discovering the “wellspring of life.” Dr.
Mahaffey has done a marvelous thing by showing us the
alternatives we have on the pathway to healthy
living. Certainly this book can be
a shining light on the way to
discovering a better and happier life.
